RACHEL BOLAN is the bassist/ song writer and founding member of the multi-platinum selling rock band SKID ROW. His love of music has taken him around the world many times over. And he has performed in front of millions of people. But there is another passion in Rachel’s life. Racing.

He has competed in a many forms of racing including go-karts, Thunder Roadsters and Legends. While in the Legends and Thunder Roadster series he worked exclusively with Andrews Motorsports Racing. “I met Curt Andrews in 2002 and we quickly became friends. We both like racing and we both like Rock n Roll” Bolan said.  Now the two have joined forces again in the Pro Challenge Series; Rachel leases one of Andrews Motorsports Racing’s Pro Challenge trucks for races when he is not on tour with Skid Row. Rachel adds,“I can’t thank Curt enough for providing me this opportunity,  it’s going to be a lot of fun . The group at Andrews Motorsports always provided me with good equipment and a lot of good advice, they have a very professionally ran race shop.”

Midweek Mayhem - July 2009

At the Midweek Mayhem at Concord Motorsports Park on July 29th Stephen Bergh blew an engine so we didn't get to see the Bergh / Hilliker battle we were waiting to see. It was building to be a good battle as the 34 car set a new track record in qualifying for the 1/4 mile at Concord, and the 77 car of Ryan Heaver in his second start at Concord looked strong also. Also the 711 car of Casey Lajoie (son of two time Busch Series champ Randy Lajoie) looked very strong early in the race until he made contact with the turn four wall, he finished but had rear housing damage.
 
The August 5 race should see the return of Skid Row's Rachel Bolen as he has been on tour since the first race, and has called to reserve the 31 truck for the August 12 and 26. It's a possibility a "special" guest driver will be coming with him.

Also for this race (8/12/09) there will be a 500.00 bonus to any driver from another region besides the North that can visit victory lane at Concord. Also the Orange County race (8/8/09) will have a $250.00 bonus posted for any driver from a region other than the North that can visit victory lane. This is in addition to the regular payout.
